The Pioneer Plays Festival takes place at Hertfordshire County Showground in St Albans. Park Address: Dunstable Road AL3 7PT St. Albans, UK. We ask everyone to respect the park and the local residents at all times by arriving and leaving the event quietly and politely, leaving any litter in the bins provided or taking it with you on your departure.
How do I get there?
We offer a return coach service for £20 – you can purchase here. The Hertfordshire Showground is a 70-acre site within 300 meters of the M1, Junction 9 and within a 30 minute drive of major towns and cities such as St Albans, Watford and Hemel Hempstead. London and Birmingham are also an easy commute away. Local buses are 34, 46. More travel information here.
Is there parking on site?
There is car parking space for 800 cars on site, car park tickets are only available now at pioneerplays.com. Please be aware that there are strict road closures in operation in the surrounding areas which only allow access to local residents.
Traffic Management will be in full operation on the day and cars will be towed if obstructing.
What if I have not received my e-ticket?
If you have not received your ticket, please contact the ticket company you purchased the ticket from or contact firstname.lastname@example.org where we will be willing to help.
What is the age limit for entry?
You must be 18 or over to attend The Pioneer Plays Festival. We request that all attendees provide physical photo ID upon arrival to gain entry.
Is there re-entry?
There is a strict no re-entry policy on the day. Doors are open from 12pm-10pm and the last entry is strictly at 6pm for all ticket holders.
What does VIP and VVIP tickets include?
VIP: Queue Jump, VIP Area with VIP Bar and exclusive toilets.
VVIP (sold as a package for 8 people): Queue Jump, VVIP Area with Table booth and Table service, 8 meals included, 2 bottles of Spirits, VIP toilets, entrance to front of stage VIP area.
Are there any prohibited Items ?
Any unauthorised items (including offensive weapons, incendiary devices, fireworks, laser pens and paint-sprays) and reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who does not comply with this condition. This is to protect all staff, stewards and members of the public. Bags will also be searched thoroughly Pressurised gas canisters and legal highs are strictly prohibited on site. Anyone found with these items will have them confiscated and may be refused entry. You cannot bring any liquids into the venue, this includes eye drops & nose sprays, perfume, water bottles etc. You are allowed to bring prescribed medication on site when accompanied by a doctor’s note or valid medical certificate. Hand sanitiser and sun cream will be allowed.
Are you accepting cash or card?
The general bar and VIP bar both accept Card or Cash and have an exceptional amount of staff working to avoid any long queues.
Will there be an ATM machine?
There will be no cash machines on site so please plan ahead if you wish to spend cash only.
Can I bring my own food or drink?
You cannot bring any food or drink into the Pioneer Plays festival. The bars and food vendors cover a variety of food and drink to cater for all needs.
